Add Military channel to Direct Tv?

I have had direct tv since 1997 and I was wandering if it is possible to add the military channel(just that channel) I have a friend who just got direct tv and he asked the guy who was setting it up if you could and the guy said you just call them up and ask them and they will. But i also heard that you can't add just one channel (form browsing the web.) So is it possible to add just one channel?
